Lives up to it's name.

The name perfectly explains the track. After closing my eyes and repeating the words "murder machine" in my head, I nearly peed my pants. People that can accomplish this have some serious skill.

Around or before the 1min mark, you really took a traditional DnB beat and tossed it in right there and then without transition, but managed to fuse it in a way that you don't need a transition. And the slight gradient around the end waas also flawless.

I have to give it to ya, this track is one of NG's chunkiest and most "real" DnB track; one that could challenge the likes of Mr-Jazzman and Stogmaster.

Lip-Lickin' Good

Wow... I'm amazed at this... You've managed to fuse a creepy synth with a pure hardstyle bass and other elements. You've succeeded amazingly. But 1:40 could be a little less strict on the short synth. Maybe a bit quiter or less shrill?

1/10 and 5/5. That shrill synth is the only thing putting this off. But it's nto too big to drop the score. Keep it up, mate!

Move outta the way, avid shuffler here

As a long-time shuffler (Melbourne Shuffle all the way, brah) I listen to hardstyle, rave and DnB a fair bit, and I have quite an ear for this kind of stuff. I must say, THIS SHIT BE KICKIN!

I love the bassline, the simple melody, the buildups, the 'DMPH DMPH DMPH' drumsbeats, the wind-ups and wind-downs, but I especially love the fusion of Scantraxx Roots-reminiscent "ding ding ding-ding ding' melody. The use of typical hardstyle elements was perfect too. But although you've put it together seamlessly, the bass could have more of a deep punch to it. The whining synth could also be more articulated. The vocal sample is pretty sweet too. Care to tell us where you got that from?

So in a nutshell, you've put this together neatly, but you're lacking something and not excelling on somewhere else. But keep it up and you'll be mixing up some beats to match those of Abject, Alpha Twins and Headhunterz!

unrealdark responds:

I'm still working on my Hardstyle mixing, and making. Though it's really hard. ^^
I'll be sure to create an really mind blowing kick + bass next time. ;) I am gratefull you noticed the scantraxx element on the melody, the tetris alike lead. :D Got the vocals from a sample pack, and some from my friend on msn.
Thanks for reviewing, and be watchfull for some new HS/HC tracks. ;)

*ps, might check my track "Tempo" as well a HS track.

SWEET JESUS, FINALLY

I have been looking all day for a proper rave song, and I've come across jack shit. The last five somgs were not Rave, but techno or house. But thank god for this song. It's reaffirmed my faith in the fact that Newgrounds does actually host some Rave music.

This needs a bit more of a punchier bassline and maybe turning the feel from creepy to grungy. With that said, I can't wait to see if a revision is made with a punchy bassline.

For an example, google the song "Abject - In Our Memories" At the 2:40 mark, you'll get a hint of a really punchy bassline that would feel great in this song.

9/10 - just needs that extra oomph in the bassline.

Rukkus responds:

Thanks for the awesome review man. And i'd like to comfirm that i've taken you advice. I'll message you when i have the edited version of this song up, with the nastier bass line :P

It's happening... again, and again...

And again... I've said this three time sbefore, and I'll say it again - This doesn't fit under Rave. Raves have more of a grungy feel.

7/10, because I'm too frustrated at the misunderstood genres and the artists that call a classical song a techno beat.

Third time today... *facepalm*

A nice loop and all, but I don't see how this is a rave piece. A rave has more of a bassline, and much more dirty and grungy instrumentals.

I still like it, and I may use it in the trailer for my upcoming FPS game. 8/10.

Yodamanjaro responds:

hahhaha, thanks!

Rave?

Although I find this song to be a nice Summer beat (submitted in Winter... Wat), it just doesn't fit under the tag "rave".

I've been listening to this for a few months and I quite like it. I'll rate it 8/10 - we need room for improvement.

I've spoken... Sorta...

Most of the below comments have summarised what I have to say about this song and your definition of DnB.

Drum 'n' Bass is the name of the genre. It's only a name. You have to realise that this is not Drum 'n' Bass. I'd file this under Misc. or Techno. If you want this to fall under DnB, give the drums a more racy and break-ish feel to it. And make it faster - slightly. I counted the BPM and it ranks in at 100BPM. So you need to make this a relative 80BPM faster.

As said before, listen to other examples. I'd suggest 'Halflife' by Stogmaster, and maybe 'Black Radio Kosher' by GrandPian. If you can analyse what makes those songs fall into the DnB category, then you're gonna be a whole lot closer to crafting a proper DnB song.

Now, don't come on in saying that I'm wrong like the rest. Because in fact, you're the one in the wrong. Either live with the fact that this isn't DnB and you put it in the wrong category, or just get out of Newgrounds and take your stubborn attitude with you.

I'll give the song itself a 4/10. It's a bit boring and thin. You need to add more of a breakbeat feel to it.

I'll give YOU 2/10 for not accepting the fact that you made an honest mistake. Just admit it. This isn't DnB. It's a fair way off, as well. Denying it will only make you look like more of a retard.

After calculating both the above scores, overall I rate this 3 stars out of 10.

this song is set at 200 BPM im not exactly sure where you got the 100 BPM from. i had to set some of the notes farther apart then normal or else it would sound like a jumbled mess.

keep in mind also that i am not used to making DNB, as i have said before, i am good at techno, all my sound kits are for techno.

i have given it some thought and i have decided i am going to put this in the techno genre. i asked some friends what genre they think this is and most of them said techno. (and considering everyone is voting low only because of it being in a wrong genre and not based on what the song sounds like)

Zelda Remix...?

We already have a few, but we need one from you.

I downloaded this song a few months ago, and have been listening to it on my iPod ever since. I just think the random dog barking is a bit odd...
I like the melody remix at the DnB beginning, I liek the seamless change from electro to DnB.

10/10. It warms my heart to hear a classic be reformed in a great way.

PROTIP: I was listening to this while playing Tetris.

Welcome to Flawmart

I agree with CecilSunkure, this song needs a bit of refinement.
The beginning was... ehh, alright, but the cymbals leading into the chorus were way too tacky. The donks and bassline were pretty well placed, but they just need to fit in with the drums. The whining synth was also way too corny. I'd also like to point out that it repeated over nine thousand times. Just submit the first loop and brand it as a loop. It get's quite annoying.

Also, I dont think this belongs in the DnB genre. Just because it has drums and basslines doesn't class it as DnB.

An 8/10 for cradting a decent song, but making a bit annoying and choppy, while submitting it into the wrong genre.

cjhgb4 responds:

aint nothing wrong here bro, u can suck my cymballs
